Properties and advantages of U-PVC pipe

Corrosion resistance

U-PVC (Plica) pipes are electrically conductive and are resistant to electrochemical reactions caused by acids, bases and salts that lead to corrosion in metals. This feature is present on the inner and outer surface of the PVC pipe. As a result, the use of U-PVC pipe in applications where there is invasive soil is very economical.

High chemical resistance

PVC is resistant to many alcohols, oils and non-aromatic petroleum products. [PVC pipe – Plica pipe] This material is also resistant to most corrosives such as inorganic acids, bases and salts. For routine water supply work, U-PVC pipes are completely resistant to chemicals in soil and water. The problem of chemical resistance only arises when there are unusual environments or when pipes are used to transport chemicals.

High modulus of elasticity and flexibility

The resistance of U-PVC (Plica) pipes to failure is one of their important operational advantages. U-PVC pipes under load can deform without breaking. The modulus of elasticity of U-PVC is one of its important advantages for technical applications, especially in situations where soil movement or vibration is probable (earthquake and…). The high amount of this quantity minimizes the phenomenon of bipolarity in these pipes. Also, due to the fact that the thickness of sewer pipes is determined based on the amount of modulus of elasticity of the resin used in pipe construction, high U-PVC modulus reduces the thickness of the pipe and increases the cross-sectional area of the flow.

Long-term tensile strength

U-PVC (Plica) pipes are formulated to have high long-term tensile strength. The minimum required strength (MRS) (used in the design of pressurized pipes) for U-PVC pipes is about twice as high as the corresponding values for other plastic pipes such as polyethylene. For this reason, U-PVC pipes are thinner than other plastic pipes and ultimately weigh less [PVC pipe – Plica pipe], which is an important advantage.

Strength to weight ratio, light weight:

The high strength of U-PVC minimizes the thickness and lightness of these pipes. U-PVC pipes have a significant light advantage, which is an important safety aspect. Easy transportation minimizes work-related injuries and facilitates cheaper installation and transportation. A person can easily carry two 6-meter pipes with a size of 110, but can only carry less than 1.5 meters of 110 iron pipes with the same force. Sealing fittings: An important advantage for any sealing pipe Its connections. U-PVC pipes (Plica) with high penetration depth and O-ring connection systems (push-fit) have been able to eliminate many traditional products through this advantage.

Abrasion / Scratch Resistance: U-PVC (Plica) pipes show very high resistance to abrasion and scratches. PVC pipes have been proven to be much more durable than metal, cement and clay pipes against the transfer of slurry.

Impact strength

Under normal conditions, U-PVC pipes have a relatively high resistance to impact damage compared to clay, cement pipes and most common pipe construction materials. Despite the reduced impact resistance of U-PVC pipes at very low temperatures, its impact strength is still higher than required.

Low amount of roughness: The roughness of the pipe is a very important and effective factor in creating pressure drop and reducing flow. U-PVC pipes have a very low resistance to fluid flow due to their highly polished inner surfaces (low coefficient of roughness and friction). In addition, in many pipes, bacteria accumulate in the rough and low parts of the pipe (biofilm formation) and eventually block the flow of water, which causes a decrease in flow pressure and water health. Drinking also has a negative effect. Low hydraulic roughness of U-PVC pipes, by preventing the formation of biofilm, in addition to reducing pressure drop, prevents sludge deposition in sewage networks and at night [Plica pipe – PVC pipe] that the distribution of drinking water also reduces the possibility of pollution Becomes. Therefore, the maintenance costs of these pipes are low and the initial design of the pipeline is more efficient.

water quality

The use of appropriate formulations for the production of U-PVC pipes makes it possible to use these pipes for the transfer of drinking water in accordance with NSF 61-62 standards and ensure that the amounts of lead, tin and other toxic elements such as mercury, cream, cadmium And barium are below the standard allowable limits.

Flame resistance

U-PVC pipe (Plica) catches fire hard and does not continue to burn in the absence of an external source. Its spontaneous ignition temperature is 454 degrees Celsius, which is much higher than most building materials. Burning PVC releases HCl gas, which prevents oxygen from reaching the ignited area. That is why PVC is called a self-extinguishing material.
